Definitions

- Smart Device: Non-standard computing devices produced by hardware manufacturers with a human-machine interface that can transmit information via wireless networks, including smart home appliances, smart wearable devices, smart air purifiers, etc.
- Application: The mobile application “Black Knight” provided by Wuxi Black Knight Technology Co., Ltd., which helps end users remotely control smart devices and connect to the Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
1. What Personal Information We Collect
To provide you with services, we will require you to provide personal information necessary for such services. If you do not provide such information, we will be unable to provide you with corresponding products or services.
1.1 Information You Voluntarily Provide to Us
- Account Registration Information: When registering an account, we collect your account name, contact information (email address, phone number), username, and login credentials. During use, we further collect your nickname, country code, language preference, or time zone information.
- Third-Party Account Login: When you choose to log in via a third-party account, we obtain shared account information (default system avatar, nickname) from the third party and bind it to your account for quick login. We will use relevant information in compliance with laws and regulations, based on our agreement with the third party and its published privacy policy.
- User Feedback: When you submit feedback or suggestions, we collect your email address, phone number, feedback content (including images or videos), and problem logs to promptly resolve application and smart device malfunctions.
1.2 Information Collected Based on Additional Functions
To provide more convenient and high-quality services, we collect and use your personal information in the following additional services. Failure to provide such information will not affect basic service functions, but you will not be able to experience the corresponding additional services.
Location-Based Additional Services
When you enable device location and use related services, we collect and use location information for App and smart device network configuration.
Reason for requiring location permission for “Add Device” on Android: Bluetooth scanning relies on location permission to complete Bluetooth communication; otherwise, device addition will not function.
When using weather services, home management, geofencing, and other functions, we collect precise or imprecise geolocation information based on your consent to enable automated scene capabilities.
You may disable location services in device system settings or via the App at Me &rt; Settings &rt; Privacy Permission Settings.
Camera-Based Additional Services
After enabling camera permission, you may scan codes to add devices and record videos. Even if you have granted camera permission, we only obtain information when you actively scan codes or record videos. The scanning function collects light sensor information to determine whether to enable the flash.

Album Access and Upload Services
After enabling album permission, you may upload photos, images, or videos to report device issues with supporting evidence. We only use such content for issue diagnosis.

Microphone-Based Voice Services
After enabling microphone permission, you may record videos and activate voice assistants. We collect voice information to identify commands. Even with authorization, we only obtain voice information when you actively click the microphone icon or record.

Storage Permission Additional Services (Android Only)
Storage permission is requested to ensure stable client operation, including reading or writing images, files, crash logs, and other necessary information for content release and local fault recording.

Notification Permission Additional Functions
Notification permission is requested to push product, service, and alarm notifications to ensure you receive real-time device status updates.

Bluetooth-Based Additional Services
After enabling Bluetooth permission, you may control devices, obtain status, discover devices, and configure networks. We only use Bluetooth communication on the homepage, device panel, and add device pages.

Face ID Services (iOS Only)
Enabling Face ID supports password-free login. iOS does not provide Face ID data to us, and we do not collect or store such data.

You understand and agree that the above additional services require you to enable corresponding permissions on your device. You may check permission status and decide to enable or disable them at any time. Enabling any permission represents your authorization for us to collect and use relevant information for corresponding services. Disabling any permission represents withdrawal of authorization, and we will no longer collect or use information based on such permission or provide related services. This does not affect information collection and use already conducted based on your prior authorization.
1.3 Information We Automatically Collect
- Mobile Device Information: To ensure normal service operation, account security, and experience optimization, we automatically collect device model, login IP address, wireless connection information, OS type and version, application version, push identifier, log files, mobile network information, and application installation list.
- Usage Information: We automatically collect behavioral information related to access, clicks, downloads, messaging, and other service usage.
- Log Information: When using the application, system and exception logs are uploaded for analysis, including IP address, language, OS version, access time, device ID, and App version, to accurately identify and resolve issues.
Separate device information and log information cannot identify a specific natural person. If such non-personal information is combined with other information to identify a natural person or used together with personal information, it will be regarded as personal information during such combined use. We will anonymize or de-identify such information unless authorized by you or required otherwise by laws and regulations.
1.4 Smart Device-Related Information
When using smart devices, we collect inherent device information and information generated during use:
Basic Device Information: Device name, device ID, online status, activation time, firmware version, and upgrade information.
Information Collected During Connection
- Wi-Fi connected devices: Wi-Fi information (SSID, BSSID, MAC address, Wi-Fi password), device MAC address, device ID.
- Bluetooth + Wi-Fi connected devices: Wi-Fi information (SSID, BSSID, Wi-Fi password), device MAC address, device Bluetooth MAC address.
- Bluetooth connected devices: device Bluetooth MAC address, device ID.
- Zigbee connected devices: device MAC address, device ID.
Information Reported by Smart Devices
If you use an IP camera (IPC), the device automatically uploads images to the cloud when motion is detected, which are automatically deleted after the retention period. If you purchase cloud storage services, videos are uploaded to the cloud and retained according to the service period. You may delete images in the Message Center; active video deletion will be executed immediately in the cloud. Disabling motion detection stops active recording.
If you use health-related smart devices (body fat scales, bracelets, smart jump ropes, etc.), the device reports health data including height, weight, body fat rate, BMI, heart rate, steps, sleep, training records, and calories.
If you voluntarily consent to enable third-party health platform connections (e.g., Apple Health, Fitbit), we share corresponding health data as required by the platform solely for measuring and analyzing your health indicators. You may disconnect authorization in the Health Management Center at any time. If new third-party sharing channels are added, your information will not be shared unless you use such channels.
1.5 Autostart Description (Android Only)
We implement related functions through widget components. No business logic is executed in the unlogged state; after login, operations are performed only upon manual user trigger. For functional and business necessities, the application process may be awakened via system broadcasts under the following conditions:
- When an intelligent scene is created and trigger conditions are met;
- When controlling smart devices via the App;
- When performing voice control via a voice assistant.
2. Purposes and Legal Bases for Processing Personal Information
We strictly comply with the Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China and other laws and regulations, processing personal information in accordance with the principles of legality, legitimacy, necessity, and good faith.
Necessary for Providing Core Products and Services
Purposes: Account creation, verification, and management; smart device network configuration, connection, control, and status synchronization; feedback and fault handling.
Information involved: Account information (phone/email, username, password), basic device information, connection information, control commands, feedback information.
Legal basis: Necessary for performing the User Agreement concluded with you.
Necessary for Ensuring Service Security and Stability
Purposes: Risk prevention and detection, system fault diagnosis, internal audit, data analysis, and service quality statistics.
Information involved: Device information, log information, usage records.
Legal basis: Necessary for concluding or performing a contract and fulfilling statutory cybersecurity obligations.
Processing Based on Your Separate Consent
Purposes: Personalized recommendations, marketing push notifications, precise location services, third-party synchronization of health data.
Information involved: Usage data, preference information, precise location, health information.

Special Notes
- Withdrawal of Consent: For processing based on “separate consent”, you may withdraw consent anytime via in-app settings.

3. With Whom We Share Your Personal Information
We share personal information only with your knowledge and consent under the following circumstances:

Withdrawal of consent or authorization will terminate corresponding services but does not affect prior processing.
Exercise of rights is free of charge. Requests from mainland China users will be processed within 15 working days; overseas users within 30 calendar days. Identity verification will be conducted for security purposes.
6. Information Security Safeguards
We implement commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to maintain the integrity and security of personal information:
- Identity authentication and authorization management for device access
- Secure algorithms and encrypted transmission for data communication
- Strict filtering, verification, and auditing for data processing
- Encrypted storage for sensitive information
- Role-based responsibilities, security training, and access control to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or damage

7. Information Retention Period
We process personal information only for the minimum period necessary to achieve the purposes stated in this policy or as required by law. Retention periods are determined based on information type and sensitivity. Information is destroyed or anonymized upon expiration.

If immediate destruction is technically infeasible, we will prevent further use via anonymization.

Our products and services are primarily intended for adults. Children should not create accounts without parental or guardian consent.
